I have been in kind of a cooking rut lately and have just been making the same things over and over. Since I had an assortment of fresh veggies (brussel sprouts, broccoli, zucchini, and red bell peppers) I decided to try something different with them. Now, I agree that steaming veggies is not some new, earth-shattering recipe, but it was definitely a new combination with a new flavor for me.
This recipe is so super easy that I hate to even call it a recipe, but here goes:
Chop all the veggies to about bite-sized and place in a large saucepan with a little bit of water in the bottom. Steam for about 5-10 minutes until the veggies are the consistency you like. I like mine done, but still a little bit crispy. After the veggies were done, I drizzled with balsamic vinegar and a little bit of salt and pepper – Voila!
